CropTrak: Know More About Your Data

CropTrak is designed to support any tractor feed (and indeed any IoT/IoP data stream) using common analysis workflows and color neutral interfaces. The first tractor APIs supported under this analysis system are MyJohnDeere and Farmobile. Both of these products collect point data every few seconds as tractors cross the fields. CropTrak analysis then lets you ask questions at any level of the field about those points.  Take for example the plot below which shows yield by soil type and average moisture by soil type for a field.

Need spatially detail analysis?

CropTrak lets you do more analysis and walk your fields with the data like

  • Yield by Soil Type (see the above graphic)
  • Moisture by Soil Type
  • Yield by Slope
  • Yield by Variety, etc.

Did You Know? CropTrak’s Data Entry History Tool

CropTrak’s Data Entry History Tool
Review and edit forms that have been saved via the Data Entry History Tool!

One of the most powerful tools within the CropTrak Mobile App is the ability to review and edit forms that have been saved via the Data Entry History tool – also known as the paperclip icon:

There are three different Data Entry History workflows that allow us to search and edit (assuming you have Admin permission to edit forms):

  • by Farm – when you tap on the Data Entry History icon in the main menu or the pop-out toolbar WITHOUT selecting a specific asset or form to search for, the resulting search will show you forms filled out against the ENTIRE farm in reverse chronological order.

  • by Asset – to search for a specific asset or place, you must first select that asset on the map. Then tapping on the Data Entry History icon will return the number of forms you have selected filled out against that asset (again in reverse chronological order).

  • and by Form – this workflow is slightly different because instead of tapping on the Data Entry HISTORY icon, you tap on the Data Entry Buttonso we can open up the Forms Menu to access the form you are interested in finding. Once you find the form you want to search on, you tap on that form and scroll to the bottom of the form and tap on the paperclip icon at the bottom left hand side of the control panel:
This will open up the numbered list menu that allows us to select how many forms we want returned to view – again in reverse chronological order.

Once you have the form open in the Data Entry History menu, you can scroll to find the form entry you want, and if you have permissions to do so, you can edit the form as necessary.

CropTrak will be at InfoAg 2017 from July 25-27 at Booth 32 talking about new developments to our app including how the CropTrak Enterprise framework now interfaces to the MyJohnDeere cloud, enabling automatic retrieval of MyJohnDeere data into CropTrak.

CropTrak does all the work!!

  1. Login to your MyJohnDeere account from inside CropTrak to start data analysis tools in CropTrak.
  2. CropTrak processes the field data for acres, rates, totals, and automatically fills out forms.
  3. CropTrak then stores the converted tractor data in your organization’s CropTrak database as measurements (attributes) and external references (geometry) for use in-app and in reports.

Did You Know? CropTrak’s Form Value Dump Reports

Did You Know? CropTrak’s Form Value Dump Reports

CropTrak’s Form Value Dump Reports
A quick & dirty reporting solution from within CropTrak Forms!

CropTrak has a quick & dirty reporting solution available within forms themselves – Form Value Dump Reports. Form Value Dump is a skeletal report that you can create out of any of the forms that you have in your organization’s database. From the form itself it allows you to take everything you’ve filled out on a form and email or print a PDF document listing all of your form item values along with the location of the measurements and the user’s name.

Form Value Dump becomes handy

  • When the user filling out the form wants to alert other users in the organization to the results that they find when filling out the form.
  • Or a customer who needs the information today and can’t wait for a formal report to be generated thru the normal reporting solutions.
  • Or maybe you just want to let your boss know you’re doing your job…

Note that you DO NEED INTERNET CONNECTIVITY (WiFi) in order to complete a Form Value Dump.
